November 9th, 1971 completed at the factory
December 1971 Sold new from Maranello Concessionaires Egham.
The first owner Sir Geoge Burton paid £9,995 with £2,625 given in part exchange for his Ferrari 275 Spider!
It is known to have covered 2000 miles by the end of February 1972 and by February 1973 the car had covered over 10,000 miles with several continental runs.
Changed hands but in late 1976 the car was bought by the chairman of Modena Engineering (Ferrari specialist owned by the Al Fayed family). The mileage was circa 15,000 miles and it was painted bottle green, the car was sent to Drefka in Modena for a no-cost rebuild. At this point, the speedo was reset to zero.
Changing hands through the 80’sand 90’s (documented) then passes through H&H Auctions in 2005. It then is sent to Bob Houghton in Northleach (Ferrari Specialist) where it was restored and painted as seen today but was not retrimmed the owner preferred the aged interior which still presents very well. #14677 also took part in the 2011 Mille MigliaRetrospective tour.
In total, this car has covered less than 30,000 miles showing PLUS the 15,000 pre-1976.
A fantastic folder regarding the car’s history and the Ferrari Classiche files are with it.
Recent work carried out including PPF (paint protection film)
This fantastic Daytona is only for sale due to the current owner’s old Plexiglass Daytona (which was painted and trimmed to his perfect specs) coming back to him unexpectedly.
